Get Fit For Golf 2011 Irish Independent

Add 30 yards to your drive and feel fitter, fresher and better than you have for years - and all in six weeks? Surely we're living in fantasy land here, but that was the experience of Newbridge GC member Eamonn O'Carroll.

O'Carroll (59) took part in a unique programme that was the brainchild of US-born Morgan Pierce, managing director of BodySmart gyms.

What people say

Marc Thornton— Dublin

"I took part in this unique golf programme with BodySmart to improve my strength and flexibility. Over 18 sessions, at times challenging but always fun with other golfers and led by experienced trainers, I improved considerably and I noticed that I am constantly hitting the ball further – last week I hit a fairway 3 wood 230 meters to go through Milltown G.C. 18th green!
I would recommend this customised programme to any golfers who want to improve! Thanks to Morgan and her team at BodySmart my golf is improving and more enjoyable."
John Royliston — Galway

"I've had a couple of my best rounds in 18months since starting the program. I believe these rounds will gradually become the norm rather than the exception as I become accustomed to my new fluid, flexible and strong swing. In addition to the ball striking benefits I am no longer feeling physical fatigue or stiffness towards the end of rounds. Furthermore my energy levels are much higher.
I'd like to thank Niamh, Rob and Orsi in Barna, also John Kelly for his excellent evaluation and insight into the bio mechanics and lastly Foregolf. Most importantly I wish to thank you for putting the whole program together."

Shane Dunne — Dublin

Delighted I signed up to the Golf Fitness program ran by BodySmart. In just six weeks I have knocked a couple of inches of my waist, while improving on my overall strength , flexibility and really feeling much better about myself! On the course I am getting through the ball with far more ease! I’d recommend the programme to Golfers and non–Golfers alike.
A big thank-you to all the guys at BodySmart, to John Kelly and the guys at Foregolf, a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience!
